L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation

 Press Sample

Have you heard of the L'oreal Magic Nude foundation? It seems like everyone is talking about it right now and I had the chance to try it out. Keep reading to find my thoughts on it.

L'oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder
Bare Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 18
Price: $12.95

About the product
This foundation comes in the form of a liquid but dries with a powder finish, which is what makes it so unique. It's supposed to give your skin that bare, no-makeup look. It comes in 12 shades so you can find your perfect match.

To use, you want to shake well, pour a few drops out (I use the back of my hand for this), and apply with your fingers. It's actually not recommended to use a sponge or brush to apply it.

My thoughts

This foundation was definitely different than any other liquid foundation I've used. The texture during application feels very velvety. I chose the shade Nude Beige, which is a perfect match for my skin. I like that it has sunscreen because sun protection is very important. The consistency of the foundation is super liquidy. Once you pour it out, you basically need to use it immediately before it drips everywhere. It's very lightweight on the skin with a soft finish.

It doesn't give me as much coverage as I'd like it to.  I don't feel like the powder finish is quite as good as the actual powder I normally use. I think this product is great if you want little coverage and maybe want to use just one product for foundation/powder.  It really depends on what you're looking for in a foundation and the type of skin you have. Some may prefer a powder foundation with a matte finish and others might prefer a liquid foundation with a dewy finish. This one would be something in between those. As for the bare skin look, I don't feel that I necessarily get that effect with this foundation, but that doesn't mean it won't work that way for you.

Is it worth it to repurchase?
I'm definitely going to finish this bottle and wear it frequently. I think I would purchase this foundation every now and then, but it's not a holy grail product for me. If you're on the fence about trying it, you should go pick it up! Everyone's skin is different and it might just be your next favorite foundation!
