Blue shadow can be a beautiful color to complement brown eyes and it doesn't have to look clownish or crazy. I love to use deep jewel-toned blues most of the time and it helps to define my brown eyes. In this case, I applied a rich brown on my lid and then used a bright blue layered over top. When mixed, it created a beautiful deeper blue hue.
I used shadows from the Urban Decay Vice Palette to create this look. Here are all the shadows I used:
Muse - golden brown
Penny Lane - copper shimmer
Chaos - bright blue
Anonymous - light cream
Other products used for this look:
Noir Long-Wear Eyeliner (from my Birchbox haul)
IT Cosmetics Tightline
IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara

I started with Muse all over the lid and brought a little down to the lower lashline. I also swept Penny lane into my crease to help blend out the edges of Muse. Anonymous is under my brow as a highlight.
Here is where I added Chaos to the outer part of my lid, making sure to blend it well with Muse.
I added black pencil liner to my lashlines.
I used both IT Cosmetics Tightline Primer and Hello Lashes Mascara on my lashes. Find my review of them here.
Here's another view of the whole look.
I think this is a great way to add color to your eye look without going too bright. At a distance, it looks like a normal smokey eye, but up close you can see a subtle hint of blue. I love wearing this look because it makes my brown eyes stand out.
What colors do you wear on your lids?
