If you're a makeup enthusiast you probably already know about eyeshadow primers and actively use them in your makeup routine. If you don't use them, I'm here to explain why you're missing out!
I started using primers on my eyes a few years ago and now I can't imagine my makeup routine without them.
For those of you who aren't familiar with them, eyeshadow primers act as a base for your eyeshadows. They make your eyeshadow last longer and appear more vibrant. People use all kinds of different products as a base but here are a few of the well-known ones....
One popular primer is Urban Decay's Primer Potion, which is what I use everyday. It comes in different formulas and works the best, in my opinion. A little goes a long way and lasts all day.
Another well-known primer is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I haven't used this one but I've heard it works great.
Another option is to use something like Benefit's Stay Don't Stray which can be used under eyeshadows or under concealer. It's a thicker formula than the primer potion and costs more but serves more than one purpose.
A cheaper alternative is to use something like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil as a base. It's like a crayon and comes in many colors. Make sure to apply a thin layer though, otherwise it will make your eyeshadow crease.
Hopefully if you've never used a primer for your shadows you find this post helpful and consider trying one. You'll notice a difference immediately and wonder why you never used one before!
