Happy 2014 everyone! Last month, I tried Beauty Box 5 for the first time. It's a monthly subscription service that features both drugstore and high end beauty brands for $12 a month. Keep reading to find out what came in my box.
About Beauty Box 5
You get a box with 5 cosmetic samples every month that can include makeup, hair care, skin care, nail care, fragrance, and beauty accessories. Monthly ($12), quarterly ($30), and yearly ($99) subscriptions are available.
My box
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing LotionThis lotion is fragrance free and is great for dry skin. It contains soothing oatmeal. This is a perfect size for travel and sometimes it's nice to have a lotion without fragrance.
H2O+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment
This moisturizer comes in the form of a blue gel that hydrates and visibly plumps fine lines. You massage it into damp skin after cleansing. I'm definitely interested in trying this one. The sample seems like it will last awhile too.
Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads
These makeup remover pads come in dry form and you add water to activate them. They're 100% natural and also contain Argan oil extract along with Vitamin E. Rinsing after use isn't necessary. I like that these come dry because wet cleansing cloths can dry out over time and might be harder to carry with you. These are suitable for all skin types.
Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder
These shimmer powders can actually be used a bunch of different ways: as eyeshadow (dry or wet), blush, eye liner, lip color, nail polish, tinted mascara, and bronzer. With this particular color (Tin Man - a silver shade), I probably would stick to eyeshadow, liner, and nail polish. There are tons of other colors available though and those hues would definitely work for other methods of application. This product is actually full-size!
Nubar Nail Polish
Yay, nail polish! It's no secret that I love to find nail polish in my subscription boxes. This isn't a full-sized one, but it's still a decent size. The color is Hot Pink and it certainly is a bright, bold pink shade. This is my favorite product of the box!
My thoughts
I enjoyed getting this box. I love that you get products at all different price points and not just high end. I like to sample products that can be found at the drugstore, because lets face it, even the drugstore can get expensive if you're just trying different products all the time. Samples give you a chance to see what's worth buying.This box was sent to me for review purposes, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have tried it on my own. I've seen reviews of it before and have been curious about it. I'd love to see how the box turns out over a few months. That's how I always determine whether subscription services are worth the price.
